About kennel Izgara
It all started in 1985 when my family bought our first groenendael from Ragnhild and Vidar Bentzen,
Kennel D'helice Noir. Benita came to us when I was nine, and she became the beginning of my passion;
Belgian Sheperds. Benita led to a large amount of activities like dog shows, junior handling and agility. Gradually I
became an active member in Tønsberg Hundeklubb (local dog club), and in 1991 a trained NKK instructor grade 1.Since then I have functioned as a trainer at courses for puppies, agility and obedience through my dog club.I also train my own dogs.
I met Bjørnar in 1993, and we married in 2002. Bjørnar grew up on a farm where dog keeping has always been a natural part of the life on the farm. It was, however, I who introduced him to Belgian Sheperd dogs, and in 1998 we bought our first tervueren. We now own six dogs, three of them are living with us and three living on breeding terms with friends.
Our vision ...
Our vision is to breed dogs that functions well as family and working dogs. That meens we will attach importance to the mentality in our breeding.
We want dogs with a good capacity to work, with moderate to good instincts. If you want a dog for service/working/IPO with high instincts it's better to contact breeders of working dogs. But if you want an active life with your dog and a dog able to compete in obedience, tracking or agility we might have the dog for you.
We also want belgians with a sound construction and a typical look.
Our ideal belgian is a pleasant dog who can assert into higher classes in tracking, obedience or agility and also does well in the show ring.
Females for breeding will be x-rayed (hips and elbows) and eyes-tested.
